UK Student Visas or a Tier 4 visa can allow applicants to come over to the United Kingdom to further enhance their studies.
Who can apply for a UK Student Visa or a Tier 4 Visa?
Anybody can apply for a student visa if they are 16 or over 16 years old, if you are 16 or 17 years old then you need to provide consent from your parents.
Requirements of a Student Visa and Tier 4 visa
a) You have been offered a place on a course by a licensed student sponsor
b) You have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course – the amount will vary depending on your circumstances
c) You can able to speak, read, write, and understand English
If you are already in the UK then you can apply to switch or extend the same.
Apply for a UK Student Visas from Outside/Inside the UK
If you are outside the UK then you should apply 6 months before the course start date, however, within the UK you must apply 3 months before the course start date.
If you’re 18 or over and your course is at degree level, then you can usually stay in the UK for up to 5 years, however, if your course of study is below degree level, then you can usually stay in the UK for up to 2 years.
Staying longer in the UK
You may be able to:
- extend your visa if you’re eligible, for example, to continue your studies in the UK
- switch to a Student visa from another visa if you’re already in the UK
- switch to a Graduate visa to stay in the UK for at least 2 years after successfully completing your course

a) From outside the UK is £363
b) From within the UK it is £490
