Eligibility Criteria for a UK Dependency Visa In order to become eligible for a UK dependency visa, it is an essential requirement that an applicant should be sponsored by someone who is a UK citizen and is related to the applicant in the capacity of an aunt, uncle, child or sibling. Candidates must be above the age of 18 and either living alone in their home country or dependent on their relative residing in the UK. Candidates would need to fulfil the below criteria to qualify for the Dependency visa:
Parents and grandparents above the age of 65 and in exceptional circumstances those below the age of 65.
Prove they have no relatives in their home country they can depend of for emotional or financial support.
The candidate must not seek financial aid from UK public funds once entry has been granted.
All children below the age of 18 will be granted entry into the UK as dependents. Their application should be submitted with the main application.
Those on a Dependency visa become eligible to apply for naturalisation after a period of 3 years.
